Erected during the days of steam c.1900, the markers announced the distances northbound to WRJ – White River Jct. – and southbound to B – Boston
Many remain in Merrimack Co. where they have been recently repainted. But here in Grafton Co. most disappeared in the mid 1900’s
when the abandoned corridor became the Northern Rail Trail.
Hear is how you can help – adopt a mile marker in any town along the line – Lebanon, Enfield, Canaan, Orange or Grafton. And we will erect it
and have it painted in historic fashion!
Remember fewer than Twenty people will have the opportunity and choice locations will go
faster than a Steam Train.
