Best Community run Trail
I was so impressed the first time I rode on the rail trail. I kept wondering when this thing was going to come to an end or turn into a brambled single track. When I found out it was 23 miles long I really couldn't believe it. It is a real gem and its right out the back door

Snowmobiling

23 miles of easy access sled trails

March 22nd, 2013 Update

Riders are cautioned to watch for closed gates in southern and central NH. Riders should watch for gates and other objects on the trails; including water bars or running water.  Recreational (rail) Trail gates are closed in many locations but the trails are open for use and riders should utilize the “man pass” on the side of the gates.  Check local club websites for specific trail information.

Northern: 6-12” of new snow on a varied base. Trails are not groomed and riding is fair. Gates are closed. Spring conditions.

February 1, 2013 snowmobile and ski Update

Though the warm temperatures and rain yesterday took away a fair amount of snow, the ground is still frozen and riding still exists in northern NH and higher elevations.  Snow chances are predicted all weekend and with the frozen base, trails will be back in shape with a small amount of snow.  February is a typically snowy month and winter is less than ½ over so more riding will occur.

Northern: No riding at this time.
Ashuelot: No riding at this time.
Fort Hill: No riding at this time.

Many bodies of water are not yet frozen and remain unsafe. Stay off lakes and ponds. Grooming operations are ongoing around the state. Please ride with caution.Sign Changes on NH Trails:  Riders should be aware that a number of trail sign changes will be made over the next few seasons.  The first change has been implemented this year and that is the discontinuance of Chevron Signs and Curves Signs.

Chevrons were designed for highway uses on engineered corners.  Trails are not engineered.  Riders need to operate at speeds prudent to handle upcoming corners and trail changes.  Directional Arrows will continue to be used to warn riders of significant changes in trail direction.
Large arrow used before changes in direction. Any yellow diamond shaped sign is a “cautionary” sign that is warning riders to slow down.
Curves: Most trails in NH have multiple direction changes and are winding.  This sign… Continue reading
