The trail above a culvert has collapsed about a quarter of a mile East of I-89 (Riverside Parking area) in Lebanon. There is also erosion in the trail just East of the culvert that needs about truck load of fill. The culvert appears to be servicing two brooks. The water seems to be going through, however the hole is very deep in the trail and constantly falling in. We put a couple of cones in the problem area so no one bikes into the hole.
Also just to the west of riverside parking area there is a problem. Water came down out the woods and left a bunch of dirt in the middle of the trail. The area is very muddy now. Dick Corr and Ken Warren cleaned the ditches by hand on Sunday to dry the area out. We have not heard of any problems to the East past Mascoma Lake. Lebanon as you know got slammed with rain. Please contact us know if you discover any trouble along the trail.
**UPDATED 7/8 — The NH Trails Bureau will be assessing the situation today.
